About Tomas N. Zacoi:
Tom was an accomplished author, writing instructional fly-fishing and girls lacrosse books including the Boy Scouts of America handbook for the fly-fishing merit badge and the College Recruitment Handbook for female high school athletes. Tom started and developed many middle school, high school and college girls’ lacrosse programs and was a founding and charter member of the Intrepid Lacrosse Club. Tom dedicated a large part of his life fighting for equal opportunities for young women athletes at the local, state and national level. For those of us who were blessed to know Tom, we knew him to be overly generous with his time, money and wisdom. Tom had a servant’s heart and we would like to honor that heart with an annual scholarship granted to deserving young women lacrosse players. The scholarship will be based upon service to the community including and not limited to missionary work, elder care, Girls Scouts of America participation, or other service to any specific community.
We would like to grant a scholarship in the amount of $500 annually. Each applicant will be required to submit a criteria-based application and also submit a 500 word essay of her service.
Please help us enable young women toward the pursuit of community service in memory of Tom Zacoi. In sincere appreciation,
The Thomas N. Zacoi Scholarship Fund Managers
